With nearly two decades of experience as an English educator, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hanh (MA) is deeply committed to the continuous growth of teachers in today's ever-evolving educational landscape. Ever since 2007, she dedicated herself teaching English to diverse age groups, from elementary students to working professionals, across a spectrum of educational institutions, including language centers and universities.
In her most recent role as a Training Quality Manager at VUS (2014-2023) and a Senior Academic Manager at TAEC (currently), she provided unwavering support to teachers in their professional development, upheld teaching standards. Her passion lies in leveraging the teaching and learning quality in this ever-changing educational landscape.
Activating the Brain: Fostering Higher Order Thinking Skills Through Words and Language
This camp focuses on strategies to promote Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) through English language teaching. Participants will explore how to cultivate critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills by using reading, writing, and vocabulary activities. The camp will offer practical techniques to engage students deeply with the English language while developing their cognitive abilities and preparing them for real-world challenges.
Objectives:
- Understand the role of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in English language teaching and learning.
- Explore strategies to foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving through reading, writing, and vocabulary activities.
- Promote peer-to-peer learning and encourage participants to reflect on practical applications of the strategies discussed in their own teaching contexts.
