From Chalk to Cloud: Three Moves to Reboot Italian Schools
26/07/2025 17:00 UTC
Digital natives learn in centuries-old classrooms with no broadband; half of Italian teachers are over 50 and rarely touch a computer; curricula still centre on rote Latin rather than coding. I will present a three-step path to rebuild the system: fibre-to-school clouds that stream VR labs, year-long peer-coached digital clinics to upskill teachers, and an open-source, student-co-designed syllabus assessed through projects, not paper tests. Italy can leap from chalk to cloud—if we dare.
Key takeaways:
Immersive Infrastructure
Teacher–Student Co-Design Clinics
Open-Source, Project-Based Curriculum
