Featured: AI literacy through collaborative learning: Research insights from a faculty book club
25/07/2025 19:00 UTC
This presentation explores how a book club helped English language instructors and program administrators build a community of practice centered on GenAI integration. In spring 2025, the project brought participants together to read, experiment, and discuss applications of GenAI to teaching and work. We describe their successes in learning and meeting diverse professional needs. We also describe the benefits and challenges of running a book club and conclude with implications for advocacy and information exchange across institutions and borders.
Key takeaways:
Findings from this project demonstrate how administrators and faculty can navigate GenAI integration and engage in accessible and collaborative professional learning.
Creating spaces where diverse perspectives on GenAI are valued builds collective agency and empowers educators and administrators.
A book club can offer a supportive environment for AI literacy skill building and pedagogical innovation
